Crossref - DOI (digital object identifier)

Crossref - DOI (digital object identifier)

The Iberoamerican Environment & Sustainability Magazine (RIAS), as a Member of Crossref, has included DOI identifiers to all its published articles, in order to maintain transparency and follow-up of its publications.

What does the DOI structure, used in the Magazine, mean?

It is an alphanumeric code that identifies a specific article on the Web, achieving its recovery even when it has been located on a different server than the one initially hosted. In this sense, it consists of:

  • The prefix corresponds to the identification of the publisher; the Journal was assigned the prefix 10.46380, by the DOI provider entity, in this case Crossref. Therefore, all publications of the institution will have the same prefix.
  • The suffix, on the other hand, is free, so each journal can decide how to structure it, either numerically or alphanumeric. In the case of RIAS publications, its suffix will be formed by the journal identifier (rias), the volume (2) and the article number (e500).
