Abstract

The work is projected towards the analysis of a set of geosocial-environmental aspects present in the training process of the Environmental Engineering professional, and the importance of this type of graduate in the context of the philosophy of Good Living. Its non-experimental performance aims to support the relevance of the Environmental Engineering Degree that is carried out at the South State University of Manabí, based on its link with the geographical area in which it is located. Analytical - synthetic and inductive - deductive methods were used as essential methods, in the theoretical order and, empirically, the analysis of documents that included the set of laws and other state provisions, in addition to the official documents of UNESUM. In the development of the work, the characteristics of the profile of the professional to be trained were explored; current limitations in the training process are specified; the necessary link with the state definitions on the subject and its adaptation to the particularities of the territory that make up the university area of ??influence. As a result, guidelines are established for the career to train professionals who are capable of developing comprehensive mechanisms of prevention, monitoring and control, to protect the interests of society in relation to environmental protection
